Terry Quinlan-Clampffer joined Lower Merion in 1990. She worked as a school nurse at Cynwyd Elementary, Bala Cynwyd and Welsh Valley Middle Schools before becoming Nursing Department Chair for the high schools and then moving into District Administration. Terry lost her brief battle with brain cancer in December 2023. Terry was an extraordinary woman, a mentor, a colleague, and a friend. A scholarship to an LMSD graduating senior who exemplifies Terry’s qualities is one way to honor her life, legacy and commitment to the LMSD.
Terry was a woman of extraordinary intellect, of unwavering dedication and of boundless kindness. She was not just a colleague, she was a mentor, a guiding light. Her work was not just a job, it was a passion, a mission, a calling. Terry’s professional accomplishments were as vast as they were impressive. She was a health services visionary, a trailblazer, and a confident leader. Under her leadership the nurses and LMSD Health Services evolved to a place of prominence within the district. Her strategies were innovative and her decisions insightful. Yet the care provided by, the training, and district support of the school nurses were always placed at the top of any priority list, including herself.
The LMTSF is proud to be partnering with Terry’s family and friends in establishing this award in her honor.
