Maitie Bottoms Scholarship established

William “Maitie” Bottoms passed away suddenly at home this summer on July 22, 2020. Maitie and his wife Lisa spent most of their lives in Narberth, PA. He was a stellar athlete, football, baseball and golf being some of the many sports in which he excelled. Maitie had a very positive influence on the lives of the many kids he coached for the Narberth Baseball League.

The Bottoms family vacationed on Long Beach Island for decades. Maitie lifeguarded on LBI as a young man. His very successful business career took him to Puerto Rico and Ireland where he lived for several years, however he never allowed this to interfere with his love of golf.

As a friend, if you asked for help, no matter what time of day or night, his response was always “Where are you? I will be right there!” It is with this sentiment that Maitie’s friends and family have asked that donations be made to the Lower Merion Township Scholarship Fund. Maitie’s example of helping others will serve as a legacy to continue to help the youth of Lower Merion pursue their academic dreams.
