New Award for 2018-19

Mr. Osipowicz Special Award
Mr. John Osipowicz was a beloved English teacher at Lower Merion High School for 34 years. During his time at L.M., "Mr. O" was actively involved with coaching boys baseball, outside work programs for students, and Faculty Senate. One of his former co-workers (Marion Klaus Schindler) reflected, “John was an inspirational teacher, loved by all. He marched to his own drumbeat and is a unique, dramatic part of Lower Merion H.S. history.” After his retirement from teaching, Mr. O. pursued his other passion, writing detective and murder mystery novels. Since 2004, Mr. O wrote 63 novels!
Sadly, in August of 2018, Mr. O lost his battle with cancer. The Lower Merion Township Scholarship Fund is honored to be giving an award in his name to a student graduating from Lower Merion High School in 2019 who has an interest in pursuing a career in Education or Writing. The Fund is still accepting contributions to the Mr. Osipowicz Special Award.
